Well, I have been really enjoying another book to learn all about leaves which was something I knew I needed to learn for my painting projects and after all I do love trees and as trees have leaves I wanted to learn how to draw and paint them much better.

A great book on a particularly niche topic, this has a rich trove of information on diverse subjects, such as: the cultural meanings of color; biological perception of color; Munsell’s color system; and how to match colors so your painting is accurate. It contains a troubleshooting chart of common problems and possible solutions, specific color challenges for Botanical Illustration (such as translucent layers, or bloom on plums), and an in-depth tutorial for each color family. I learned quite a bit.
